“multiple degrees”, you’d be wrong.
If you guessed “retail vs hospital pharmacist” you’d still be wrong
And if you guessed …
… how many kids you have.
… how many investment homes you own.
… or how many times you go out to dinner.
You’d still be oh-so-terribly wrong.
Cause here’s the deal.
You have more budgeting apps at your disposal than ever before.
… Mint
… Personal Capital
… Ally
Don’t get me wrong, they are great tools but they are only tools. And if you’re not careful they add to the chaos.
Yet how many people making over $100,000 do you see living paycheck to paycheck?
35? 36? 37? percent?
Holy broke batman.
And it’s NOT because those apps are wrong or ineffective.
It’s just that they’re
Incomplete
You see…
While you drive into work to play the silly game of “prior authorization roulette” while your phone sends you notifications you spent more or less this month you realize …
That budget you tell yourself is working is missing the most important ingredient.
A plan.
Y’know, like the guidelines you follow for your patients but seem to let slide for your own money.
Meaning that the “spending plan” that was supposed to be your guide to
… knowing exactly where your money is going
… freeing up enough money for that kitchen remodel, pool, or finished basement
… living your life how you envisioned when you were in college
Simply. Never. Happened.
And I get it…
Making a budget sucks.
Or at least the way you’re used to doing it.
That’s why you put it off til… well never… until you realize you can’t pay your mortgage once the credit card auto pays.
So you go into scramble mode.
You open your credit card app and analyze every single transaction. In disbelief that these numbers actually do add up to the balance at the bottom.
Now you rush to your spouse, in a fruitless attempt to blame them for all the transactions.
Only to find that you were just as responsible.
In a final herculean attempt, you slip on your Nike’s. You dash around your house looking for recent purchases you can still return.
And maybe you can cash in on your good karma and manage to collect enough stuff to make a difference.
With clothes, iPad, and shoes returned it looks promising until you learn the credit won’t post until it's too late.
So you have to take the credit card off full auto payment and keep a balance at 16% interest this month.
Inform your spouse not to make a single purchase for a few days.
And crawl back into your home with your tail between your legs until the next paycheck comes along and you start the process all over again.
Want to opt-out of the spending crisis?
With the amount of time, effort, and daily stress you’ve committed to helping your patients, you DESERVE to have money for yourself while easily paying your bills.
You deserve to know EXACTLY where your money is going - waking up every morning stress-free to accounts that are growing, and a crystal clear picture of what you can spend.
You deserve to actually have money READY FOR YOU, instead of scrambling when an unexpected expense pops up. Like 100 dollars being handed to you exactly when you need it.
You deserve to actually feel the CONTROL of spending how you want, instead of constantly worrying - “Will this be the month that everything comes crashing down?”
In a moment, I’m going to show you how to FINALLY tip the scales back in your favor.
But first, a few key things you gotta soak your brain’s grey matter into…
1. Budgets Don’t Have to be Restrictive to Work
Budgets have far less to do with cutting spending, buying rice and beans or biking to work, and EVERYTHING to do with making a Spending Plan for what you want. Especially for us Pharmacists.
You’re not so much “restricting” your spending as you are aligning spending to match your values…
… and then setting up a simple system to make sure you have the money for what is truly valuable to you.
2. It’s meant to be easy to maintain.
What’s worse than a 300-line budget?
If you guessed a 300-line budget you have to maintain…
… you would be correct.
It’s not uncommon for your detailed budget to have over 100 line items.
So it goes without saying that you need to put a supersized emphasis on SIMPLICITY.
Cause as a pharmacist, or even as a busy ass parent, you don’t have endless hours to labor over your Macbook Pro while throwing back 18 Starbucks refills.
Screw those Starbucks reward points.
Your spending plan needs to be updated in a few minutes.
But it also needs to actually work.
Which means, you need a system that is simple and easy to maintain.
3. It’s meant to enrich your lifestyle (at least partially)
Simply put, if you’re responsible for making money in your home, you’re responsible for taking ownership over how it is spent.
And the process isn’t supposed to suck.
Setting up a budget, and seeing it work can be one of the most rewarding and exciting parts of your week.
Most rewarding? Exciting?
YES.
For some pharmacists, it will allow you to go on lavish vacations, renovate your kitchen, finish the basement, buy a new fancy car, crush your student loan debt, retire early, go on regular golf trips or wine tours.
The point is, while other pharmacists waste hundreds or thousands of dollars each month on junk you will be intentionally living your life best life.
4. You don’t need to revisit past purchases with shame
Cause here’s the truth - you don’t want to pull up past purchases that might be upsetting.
You’re focused on the present and future right now.
So we’re not going to ask you to wake up at 5 am every morning for the next 60 days to pull up old credit card statements.
You don’t need another audit.
But what you DO need is to GAIN CLARITY to where you want your money to go.
And you need to do it all without the guesswork of going at it alone.
That’s why…
5. You must understand that now is always the best time to make a plan.
Ever wonder why some people never seem to stress over unexpected expenses?
Here’s why:
Avoiding unexpected expenses has nothing to do with making all of the correct decisions, or “unicorn” products that never break down or need repair.
Avoiding unexpecting expenses is nothing but the art of recognizing what has a high probability of sucking money from you and planning for those events.
Nothing more.
Nothing less.
The truth is…
A prepared pharmacist will ALWAYS stand a better chance at pushing through an unexpected expense than an unprepared pharmacist.
As long as you start you are better off than everyone who didn’t.
Hey There!
Daniel Aaron, PharmD here.
And when I’m not going out for ice cream with my beautiful wife, Jeanine, and 3 sons listening to the Encanto soundtrack for the 1000th time…
I run Stack’d Financial Coaching, a 1-on-1 coaching firm that has worked behind the scenes, making spending plans for pharmacists who want peace, security and happiness out of what they are already making.
We are not:
Insurance Agents
Financial Planners who hand you a plan and expect you to do it by yourself.
Overpriced Financial Advisors who charge a fee and disappear for a year.
We are implementation specialists & caring support that pick you up on the side of the thorny back roads that those other folks left you off at…
And if you allow me to do it, here’s where I plan on taking you and your finances:
1 “Not Your father’s” Spreadsheet that will show you in full detail where your paycheck is going, as well as, how to leverage a new, more sustainable method of “budgeting” that simply works.
2 Hours of 1-on-1 Coaching breaking down your spending into 3 simple categories and introduce you to different ways to pay down debt (including some you didn’t even know existed).
You’ll learn exactly how to lower those insulin spikes of spending and how to automate the process in a non-restrictive way.
1 Simple Stacking Method Dashboard that will show you exactly how you are doing this week and beyond. Plus you will have the opportunity to have The Simple Stacking Method built 100% for you.
Meaning, you can get everything set up quickly and start working toward your goals while your coffee is still hot.
1. I want to do this, but i’m already spread wayyyy too thin. How much time is this gonna take?
We hear you :)
We’ve also gone to bed and woken up cuddled next to iPhones.
Skipped meals.
And felt like adding “one more thing” to a never-ending to-do list would wreck this whole game of human Tetris we’ve involuntarily subscribed to.
But here’s the thing…
Building a Spending Plan that frees you up from the stress and allows you to be more productive will take dedicated time and commitment of about 30 minutes every 2 weeks once set up.
On our end, we PROMISE to spare you from the impractical fluff or theoretical braindumps.
Meaning, every hour you invest in designing and implementing your Spending Plan will have an exponential payoff.
As a time/money-starved professional, committing this time is the most leveraged and valuable way to invest your energy.
2. I’ve been holding off on building a budget cause I’m scared of having to cut back on things I love. Are you gonna suck the fun out of my life?
Maybe. Maybe not.
Stressed to Stack’d will give you the foundation for success. But anytime you make a plan it's not meant to be permanent. So if you find that you don’t have enough money allocated for what you love it should be modified.
It’s one of the tale tell signs that something needs to be adjusted so you are enjoying your life more, NOT less.
3. I’ve made some purchases I’m not proud of. Do we have to go back and look at past spending habits?
No.
Although looking at the past is a good way to shape your spending plan, looking at every transaction is not helpful.
Let's give yourself a break and hit the “reset” button.
We are starting with a positive attitude and moving forward.
4. I’ve read dozens of books on budgeting. How is this any different?
So have we, and we have nothing against them :)
But the mission here is extremely focused on outcome-based:
Design and implement a Spending Plan that cash flows $500-1000 extra per month while decreasing guilt and increasing happiness.
No theories or case studies that will never apply to you.
Just the hyper-specific action steps needed to get you up and running in the right direction ASAP.
5. I don’t feel like I’m good with money. Are you sure I can learn this?
Yes.
No one was born “good with money” It is a LEARNABLE skill. And contrary to popular belief, you’re not supposed to know how to do it “out of the box”.
In fact, the skills that got you to where you are now, as a pharmacist, is proof you can do this.
But here’s the kicker:
No matter HOW much temporary discomfort or self-doubt you may be experiencing right now, we believe you were BORN to live your life to its fullest, not stressed out.
By the time you’re done, you’ll not only be back at the helm controlling your future, but you’ll feel so much happier and fulfilled.
6. Does this work virtually?
Yes.
We are currently 100% virtual using Zoom.
7. Can you remind me of what I’m getting today when I enroll today?
1 “Not Your father’s” Spreadsheet that will show you in full detail where your paycheck is going, as well as, how to leverage a new, more sustainable method of “budgeting” that simply works.

By now, you already know that the biggest difference between a pharmacist who has enough money for everything they want and a pharmacist who can’t pay their next mortgage comes down to…
So if you’re still here… let’s wrap up with a lil’ real talk.
If you’re a pharmacist, responsible for making the money in your home… you need a Stressed to Stack’d Plan
If you worry about how much your next credit card will be… you need a Stressed to Stack’d Plan
If you feel guilty every time you make a purchase because you don’t know if you can afford it… you need a Stressed to Stack’d Plan
If you imagined you would travel more but you worry about how to pay for it… you need a Stressed to Stack’d Plan
If your kitchen, bathroom, basement, or backyard really needs a reno but you just can’t afford it right now… you need a Stressed to Stack’d Plan
and…
If you’ve got your sights set on taking back control, spending confidently (and growing your accounts)...you need a Stressed to Stack’d Plan
